Designed by Val Rossi for Beithcraft of Melbourne, this striking mid-century sideboard is one of the most recognisable and sculptural Australian furniture designs of the 1960s.
 
The piece is defined by its dramatic boomerang-form base, an architectural feature that gives the cabinet a remarkable sense of lightness and movement. The base alone places this design among the most distinctive pieces produced by Australian makers during the mid-century period.
 
Above, the beautifully grained teak cabinet features three drawers and two cupboard doors, each with elegant carved pulls that flow seamlessly across the front, creating a cohesive sculptural façade.
 
Internally, the cupboards provide generous storage with shelving, while the drawers offer practical space for cutlery, linens, or household items. The proportions make it ideal as a statement sideboard, media cabinet, or dining room centrepiece.
