An iconic piece of Australian mid-century design, the Fler SC55 armchair was designed by Fred Lowen in 1955 and remains one of the most recognisable designs produced by Fler.

Celebrated for its distinctive paddle-shaped timber armrests, elegantly tapered legs and sculptural silhouette, the SC55 combines Scandinavian-inspired aesthetics with innovative Australian craftsmanship.

Originally marketed as the "Miracle Comfort Chair", its clever combination of a steel frame and sprung seating offered exceptional comfort without compromising its light, refined appearance.

This example has been carefully refurbished, with the timber recently refinished to highlight its natural warmth and character, and the upholstery professionally renewed. A beautifully considered design that is as comfortable and functional today as it was over 70 years ago.
