This is a beautiful and practical piece of cabinetry with beautiful half lap and dovetailed joinery detail along the edges and drawer fronts. The set is made from Tasmanian Oak timber with gorgeous pull handles and brass hinges and brass cabinet door stay. All hand made and turned by Mr Kilsby himself.
 
This beauty has ample space for all your entertainment equipment - below a deep and wide cabinet with double door opening for a Subwoofer and Front Speaker, or for your record collection. Above that a slim cabinet for your music player, and a drawer with ventitalion channels for your amplifier. The top storage compartment opens up to display your record player with additional ventitlation channels. Alternatively, place your record player on top! 
 
Overall in near perfect vintage condition with minimal signs of use. All mechanisms work well and drawer glides open. Ventilation Channels to keep your HiFi equipment from overheating and easy cable Management from the back of the unit. We raised this cabinet on timber legs and the final result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing record cabinet.
 
 
Sometimes these pieces have a beautiful back story... 
 
Mr. Kilsby (aka Wing Commander) recently passed away at the age of 97. He had been a pilot and war veteran, well travelled and well loved. 
 
The home he shared with his late wife was filled with interesting artifacts from all over the globe, and one can only imagine the wonderful stories he would have been able to share. Stories of a life well lived. 
 
We had aquired several mid century pieces from his estate, and of course, several of his custome made pieces. He clearly had a passion for cabinetry and expert hands and eyes. This lovely piece, just like our late Mr Kilsby, is a one of a kind.
