Mid Century/Vintage Custom Made Tallboy in Tasmanian Oak

 
Spectacular solid timber tallboy - custom made by the late Mr Kilsby.
 
A beautiful piece of cabinetry with beautiful half lap joinery detail along the edges and darwer fronts. The set is made from Tasmanian Oak timber with gorgeous pull handles. All hand made and turned by Mr Kilsby himself.
 
This beauty had ample space with 5 deep and tidy drawers. The perfect edition to a home looking for some quality storage for clothes or linen.
 
Excellent vintage condition with minor sign of use. All the drawers glide open and the runners work well. We raised this cabinet on timber legs and the final result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinet/ bookcase.
 
Sometimes these pieces have a beautiful back story... 
 
Mr. Kilsby (aka Wing Commander) recently passed away at the age of 97. He had been a pilot and war veteran, well travelled and well loved. 
 
The home he shared with his late wife was filled with interesting artifacts from all over the globe, and one can only imagine the wonderful stories he would have been able to share. Stories of a life well lived. 
 
We had aquired several mid century pieces from his estate, and of course, several of his custome made pieces. He clearly had a passion for cabinetry and expert hands and eyes. This lovely piece, just like our late Mr Kilsby, is a one of a kind.
