Soledad has 'the gift of the brush'.
 
Her ability to use her brush to create simple lines, texture and colour is remarkable. A skill that takes most artists decades to perfect, and quite evident in this particular piece.
 
The movement of her brush strokes to show the birds in flight, and her subtle use of colour and contrast with simple yet deliberate brushstrokes to create the illusion of flight and movement of wings is extraordinary. 
 
When asked about her latest creation, Sole sent the following:
 
"Back home when you are a daydreamer, a distracted person, a bit of a rebel going against the rules or trying to keep yourself out of the noise and the frenetic life through paintings, poetry, or music, they will say that you have "Pajaros en la cabeza" (Birds in the head)"
 
"Some people will use the expression to point at those who are recently in love, really distracted, and not paying attention to anything else, floating in clouds.
If I could choose what to have in my head, it would be definitely birds. "
 
And we have to agree with her, if we had to have something in our heads, wouldn't it be great if it were birds!
 
 
About the Artist:
 
Soledad was born in Patagonia, a windy, dry and cold area in Argentina. Her mother, who was a plastic artist, cultivated her passion for art from a very young age. When Soledad was younger her family moved around a lot, due to the nature of her father's work. As a result she has found a lot of inspiration from ever changing her surroundings. She has since travelled to numerous destinations around the world and lived in Argentina, London, Colombia and now Australia.
